Oil Feed

I recently snapped the oil feed whilst changing the turbo, common problem(i think), so intead of going to Toyota and buying another, for the same thing to possibly happen again, me and the old man made this up:

Ground a little out of the oil filter housing, and re-threaded/re-tapped a UNF 10mm to 15mm brass plumbing joint;

Connected a braided line (15mm) nut end;

Then on the turbo side, cut the steel pipe, another UNF 8mm to 15mm onto the steel pipe, then connected the braided line up.

At the moment I have only clamped the braided line on, as I haven't got round to the plumbing shop, but I used an old feed pipe and the 8mm UNF does fit.

Should be easier to take turbo off now without having to piss about getting that stupid 19mm oil bolt out.

me and my dad did the same thing. Re ground and tapped it, fitted a banjo and a british standard joiner thing, all made up for us at our local hydaulic specialist. End result:

what i dont get is what you do to the flange that go on the turbo ! do you weld anything on it ? or just tap a thread in the flange? and doesnt that pipe beeing thicker than the standard one drop a bit the oil pressure?
