1st drag race since 7 years ago in another turbo car. I need a monster size BOV, as car has none and flutters like a dinosaur and contributes to my shit time. Car is tuned for 12psi, i only pushed it to 10ish only. On the street, this car feels like a 13 second car at least, absolute monster, but at the drags, pffff, shet time. Wheelspin plus no bov i reckon contributes to this. On the last run, i did a pre stage burnout, the car slingshotted all the way to the staging lights. This car is extremely boost responsive. I just belive the back flow of air into the turbo due to no bov is causing the crap time. This car flutters big time and i wont be surprised at all if the turbo does indeed spin completly backwards in between shifts.
I will either push more (12psi), or get the car tuned or assessed on the dyno for 15psi. This is my daily driven car and not my boost monster car. I have another drag orientated car that can achieve high 11's, but is a 4g63 turbo etc. I'm not anticapating my GT to be a drag monster, just a fast street car and not a fully fledged drag car at 20psi. My TD04L turbo has massive induction suction noise, kinda surprised it hasnt sucked in the pod filter.
Im not blaming the turbo at all for my crap time, but more due to no bov, thats my biggest concern.
